I passed and received my CNA from another state where I have been ACTIVELY WORKING as a CNA during the past two years. Now I have moved to Colorado. What is my status?
I have taken the CNA training within the past two years but have NOT YET TAKEN the Colorado state exams for certification. What should I do next?
For additional guidance, please contact the
COLORADO STATE BOARD OF NURSING
You are eligible for "certificate by ENDORSEMENT" if you currently hold an ACTIVE CNA license or certificate in any other state or territory of the U.S. Contact the Colorado State Board of Nursing to obtain application guidance (link provided below).
Contact Pearson-Vue or the Colorado State Board of Nursing for guidance (link provided below).
You are eligible to go ahead and take the "Colorado State Nurse Aide Competency and Evaluation exam" (original certificate by exam) at an approved Regional Test Site, and if you pass, you will receive the Colorado nurse aide certification (CNA). Contact Pearson-Vue or the Colorado State Board of Nursing for additional guidance (link provided below)

As for our Front Range Nurse Aide Training Program, we issue a "Proof-of-Training-Affidavit" (POTA) to each of our graduates that remains valid for 24 months. If the graduate does not take the State Boards within that 24 month period, then their POTA becomes invalid and they must take an approved training course over again. This is our way of ensuring their training is up-to-date. Also please note that the Front Range Nurse Aide Training Program will ONLY provide testing for students that have completed our entire course!
