William Whatley
ADMINISTRATOR
The founding co-owner and Administrator of Nurse Nancy LLC is William Whatley, a professional anthropologist/archaeologist, 4th generation native of Colorado and happily married spouse & partner of Nurse Nancy!
William manages the Program's operations, including marketing, contracts and records. He also volunteers two to three hours per week training Academy District 20 high school students with special needs in various office management skills (ACE Program).
William retains over 32 years of professional experience working as a professional anthropologist/archaeologist including over24 years in supervisory and administrative positions. Over the years, he has worked with the Smithsonian Institute, National Geographic Society, USDA Forest Service, Army Corps. of Engineers, the Jane Goodall Institute and numerous Native American tribes, namely the Pueblo of Jemez in Northern New Mexico. His specialties include GIS based satellite detection/mapping, the repatriation of Native American artifacts and the protection of Native American sacred sites and burial grounds. William has owned and operated a successful archaeological firm and more recently, served as the vice president of a high resolution satellite mapping company. He has appeared in numerous television documentaries on the History, Discovery, Science and National Geographic channels.
When not administering Nurse Nancy LLC, William enjoys tracking unusual wildlife high-up in the mountains and restoring old Willys jeeps. He also still performs satellite based mapping of wildlife habitat areas located in Colorado.
In addition to his anthropological experience, William has written and administered numerous grants, many exceeding $400K. He has also helped to establish major law enforcement, forestry, GIS, environmental, archaeological and youth education programs in Indian Country. Much of his graduate work was focused on Federal contract administration and compliance.
